To recap our adventures, we decided to post our favorite destinations, and top likes and dislikes for each city we visit. Feel free to let us know via comments if there's other things you want to hear about (e.g. top funny story, top idiot tourist moment, etc.).
Top Destinations:
- Muay Thai kickboxing fight
- Chatuchak weekend market (think gigantic flea market with good mix of locals/tourists)
- Taking the water taxi ferry up and down the Chao Phraya river
- Grand Palace (this is living... big pimpin' style)
- Sukhumvit Street with all its little nooks and crannies with restaurants/shops galore!
Top Likes:
- Cheap!
- Massages
- Shopping! Great tailors, awesome shops.
- Fantastic, diverse, cheap eats
- Easy to use mass transit: Great skytrain.
Top Dislikes:
- Weather (humid!)
- Too dirty and polluted... and we thought LA air was bad!
- Too many hustlers (... but doesn't Jaime know she's married to one?)
- Indigent peeps: the poor are everywhere and many of them are crippled... it is very sad.
- Overcrowded. Bankok is NYC on crack. You can't take 2 steps without bumping into someone!
