You'd think that after 2 weeks in 'Nam we'd be less susceptible to the scams. Unfortunately, today was a fitting end to our time in Vietnam as we were scammed... twice!
We went to dinner and the guy told us the fish special was $130,000 Dong. We got the bill, and the fish was listed as $140,000. We asked the manager who took our order and he said "Yes, I tol' you... one-firty!" ... the one time we don't whip out the calculator we get scammed!
After that, Jaime went to get her hair cut at the salon. The lady at the salon takes out the brochure and points out the price... $180,000 Dong... not bad. Jaime goes upstairs and gets seated. This older guy walks over and gestures that he's going to cut her hair. Unfortunately, no ingles so Jaime decides to go with the other guy who speaks a bit of English. After the hair cut (which ended up being really nice), Jaime went downstairs and was told that the bill was $280,000. We explained that it was $180,000 before we went upstairs, but were told that the guy who cut her hair has a "special rate!"
Get us out of here! :)

Mommy and I were short changed while getting a hair cut in Shanghai. Locals always laughed at the prices we paid for souvenirs or knockoffs. They actually had a game to see who set the new record of paying the most rediculous price.
